Half-Life VR but the AI is Self-Aware Wiki

The G-Man is an enigmatic entity who appears several times in HLVR:AI. Not much is known about his motives or history, beyond him being the father of Tommy. G-Man's actor, Mike, describes him as "an alien with knowledge over the entire human race in his hands".

Description[]

G-Man is a pale, older man who works for mysterious employers. His primary concern seems to be that of his sons safety and happiness, even bringing him to Chuck E. Cheese's for this 37th birthday. He's typically seen wearing a dark blue suit with a black tie. He staunchly believes that Chuck E. Cheese is a family entertainment center, and not a restaurant.

Quotes[]

  • "Doctor Freeman! It's good to see you in such... good... spirits."
  • "Now, Tommy, I have one last surprise for you. Look, over there..." (Regarding The Minions)
  • "You are nearing the end of your journey, my friend." (To Gordon)
  • "Such a laughable notion, wouldn't you say?" (Regarding Gordon calling Chuck E. Cheese's a restaurant)

Trivia[]

  • The voice actor for G-Man, Mike, had to pre-write some of his monologues so as to keep in-character during some scenes.

  • The G-Man's presence in Half-Life VR:AI expresses completely altered motives from his official presence in the Half-Life series, where instead of posing as an enigmatic antagonist throughout the whole series, here he is more meant to deliver exposition and lead up to the reveal as Tommy's father.
  • The G-Man's actor in the series, Mike, shares a given name with his actual actor in the Half-Life series, Michael Shapiro.
  • He and Forzen were the only characters with a speaking role not to appear during the AI Crushes All Banks Justice Drive.
